Elefanten Schuhe, the company from the Lower Rhine area looks back on a longtime tradition: Founded in 1908, the shoe manufacturer represented best quality for many years. In 2004, after nearly 100 years the renowned business faced its end. Since February 2006, Deichmann – the new owner of the trademark rights – has been seeing to it that the children´s shoes are being sold again.

Assignment
Coupled with the re-entry into the sales market, a re-launch of the internet site was to follow. The goal was to present the entire line of children’s shoes on the internet, and at the same time, have the site be easily managed.

Implementation
In order to service the website of the product line, Deichmann uses the Product Information Management System infuniq®. The PIM-System enables the business to store and service all product information in one central system. The central and media-neutral data log allows the shoe retailer to publish according to their target groups simultaneously and in different media.

Details
Deichmann presents the complete children´s shoe collection on the Elefanten website. Every kind of product data – from description texts and price information to product images – is supplied by Deichmann and imported into infuniq®pure. In order to display the shoes on the internet, the retailer uses the additional module infuniq®web. An SOAP-interface enables the product information to be exported from infuniq®pure to infuniq®web: In XML format, the data is through the http-protocol. Using the parametric search (the so-called “PowerSearch”) customers are able to find the desired shoe with the appropriate features with in no time at all.
